"Ernest is a stand up Realtor. In 2007 I purchased a condo at the peak of the market, I asked Ernest to do the purchase for me and he would not do it! I never heard of a Realtor turning down an opportunity to make a sale, but Ernest would rather lose a sale than give someone a bad deal - this is priceless. He told me it was a bad idea spending that much money on a condo and against his recommendation I went ahead without him and purchased the condo thru the builder. He was right I paid $290K for the condo and within 2 years the value dropped to the mid $70K. We were upside down stuck and there was no relief for us. We tried multiple attempts at modification and short sale and the bank would not budge because we did not go into default.
